PA0SNY/AM qrv with KLM A-330

December 4th, 2014, thursday evening 1800 UTC, Hans, PA0SNY was Aeronautical Mobile from a KLM Airbus aircraft A-330 with registration PH-AKF. This brand new aircraft received from the Airbus center at Toulouse. The aircraft was flown back to the KLM mainbase at Amsterdam/ Schiphol airport. The equipment used to establish ham radio qso's is a Collins HF set delivering 350 Watts to the vertical stabalizer used as an antenna. At the first part of the flight Hans was QRV on 7185 kHz USB. Flying above Paris Hans switched to 3787 kHz USB. The USB mode was used because the aircraft does not have the LSB mode wired.

Donderdagavond was PA0SNY/AM air mobiel vanuit de KLM airbus A-330 PH-AKF. Het nieuwe vliegtuig werd afgeleverd door de Airbus fabriek in Toulouse. Het vliegtuig werd teruggevlogen naar Schiphol. De apparatuur bestaat uit een Collins HF set met 350 Watt. Als antenne wordt een 3,5 meter deel van het verticale roer gebruikt. Het eerste deel van de vlucht was Hans qrv op 7185 kHz USB. Boven Parijs schakelde Hans naar 3787 kHz USB. Hans kan vanwege de interne vliegtuig bedrading alleen met USB uitkomen.
